Wander

Mist-veiled eyes among the columns.
Waft of breath past your ears.
Distinct footsteps, invisible and solemn.
Warm fingers drip somewhere near.

Softer melodies call from a sun unseamed.
Heartstrings pluck to every nudging hope.
Terrible tremble of freedom not seen.
Long asundered soul can cope.

Fall into footsteps of dark teeth shone.
Melt when horrid eyes cause such a ponder.
Remove the sunken weight of stone.
With the mischievous stranger, wander.

Inspired by a character the Collective Project's upcoming show, The Devil Tree.
